KC REN FAIRE
I was hired to follow and capture the Highland Highschool choir perform as the Madrigal and Chamber singers at the Kansas City Renaissance Faire this past October. Going to ANY Renaissance Faire is a great time. If you love to people watch, this is the place to do it. Wonderful activities for the whole family, amazing artisans selling wares, and fun adventures.
These young adults blew me away with their singing. On numerous occasions I had to stop taking photos due to blurred vision from tears forming in my eyes, or to rub away the gooseflesh they invoked from their harmony. They did a phenomenal job and I was but delighted to be a part of their day.
I started out going to Sasnak City as a vendor of Celtic and Scottish goodies. The organizer, Gina, knew that I was also a photographer and asked if I could fill in for a last minute photographer for one of hers that had to cancel at last minute. The gig would consist of "CelebrityOp" photos (that which you would see at a Comi-Con with a guest and a celebrity) and any photos during the event that were needed. Sure, why not! I jumped at the chance.
It was a challenge, but I enjoyed every moment of it. I would do it again in a heartbeat. In fact, Gina and I are in talks of me working future events for her! Watch this space!
